Putzing around with something with mad scientists’ henchmen, maybe involving a temp agency or a union office or something. They all wear ties, even the blob. Imagine the fun of casual day with this crew!

Something apparently bad happened to this site. My header disappeared, my comics categories got all wonky and half my pictures disappeared. So I’m trying a quick overhaul, but at least this post shows up if you’re coming here from prematurelydisappointed.com.

I had an idea to create a multi-faceted comic that revolved around mindless violence. Mad Cow was one of the vignettes. The sketchier one was supposed to be for the adventures of “L’il Mad Cow”, one-page flashbacks of childhood destruction. It actually never went beyond this drawing. But it could. It could.

That was the theme for a poster at Wallace’s campus bookstore. Someone said “cow” and “corset”. I’m not proud. I actually sketched a bull behind her yanking on the strings with a disgusted “DAMN!” look on his face, but they nixed it before final design.

This is a poster image I made for a local college bookstore (Wallace’s). They hired me sporadically to create posters, tickets, logos, flyers, etc. and they wanted a poster for the annual EAA fly-in, hence the pilot motif. Fans of my comic “prematurely disappointed” may recognize the art stule, especially in the face/head design.

The employees of Wallace’s bookstore (and affiliates) apparently got drunk and brainstormed up a mascot for the annual year-end textbook buyback, Clucky the Buyback Chicken. And I was drafted to design him. And for some reason, in gladiator fatigues. This was the first (and possibly only) drawing I ever did that when I looked at it afterwards, I thought someone else did it. Like it was more professional than I could achieve on my own. Then they put it on their website and colored it and I was amazed. Too bad they closed and the website is gone. But I still have the original.

The magazine publisher that prints this comic suggested the theme for this one. Took a while to get the wording right to express the one man picnic idea and (I believe) make it funny.

I really like how his hands turned out. This idea came from the magazine publisher who prints “a few blisters”.

My first experimentation with “blur”.  I think it added a nice touch. This was the Valentines edition, hence the pink background.  I was going to put a heart “taped” on the door, but I didn’t like it on my draft.

The first (and possibly only) appearance of the back of Andy’s head. I like the simpleness of this one, as well as the entire series in general.
